International Typing Day 8th January 2025

Celebrating Typing Day: Honouring Typists Wherever They Are!

Unbelievable but true (!) today is International Typing Day. A day apparently to celebrate the art and skill of typing. Established in Malaysia in 2011, this day “encourages individuals worldwide to appreciate the efficiency and speed that typing brings to our daily interactions”.

A Brief History of Typing

The journey of typing began with the invention of the typewriter in the late 19th century. The first commercial typewriters were introduced in 1874 and became widely used in offices by the mid-1880s.
